Since the early 90’s I have been collecting my favourite songs from records that I come across to make compilations that could be listened to when I’m on the move. I started making those compilations on C-90 cassettes (I did 32 of those) and since 2001 I switched to CD-R. Now I also started encoding these compilations in MP3 since I’m mostly using public transports to go to work and an MP3 player is almost essential to forget the long commuting times. And sharing music with friends is now even easier with file hosting sites like Rapidshare and others. There’s no need to duplicate tapes or CD’s anymore.
Anyway, my point is that I have uploaded some of the latest compilations on Mediafire. If anyone wants to have a listen just follow the links here below. If you want the list of tracks of each compilation before downloading, simply send me an email with the title ‘Compilation Tracklisting’, and I’ll email you back with the list. Each compilation collects songs from the late 80’s to the present day, with an emphasis on indie stuff but not only (can Sigur Ros or Sufjan Stevens be considered indie?) Also, the songs are encoded in 160 kbs so that each compilation’s size is just under 100 MB. Not the best quality I know, but enough for an MP3 player I think. And, finally, the latest compilation dates back as you can see from winter 2007. I haven’t been able to make any since then due to a hectic work schedule this past year (I’ve changed employer 4 times since September 2008!!) I’ll try to catch up this year, good music never ages anyway

PS: English is not my first language, so the selection of songs is based mostly on music and melody, and more rarely on the lyrical content. Usually great sounding songs have clever or at least interesting lyrics, but not always, and tastes differ from one person to another. If you think that I’ve missed a great song on an album don’t hesitate to let me know.
